Nikita

Nikita is a 9 year old gray and white Alaskan Malamute. She was left in a shelter by her owner of 9 years, because he was moving and couldn't take her. The shelter immediately fell in love with her, and kept raving about the sweet girl Nikita.

Well, we concur! She loves attention, and LOVES to play! She'll play fetch and tug of war with her squeeky toys! If you won't play, she'll squeak 'em herself, and throw them for herself to fetch. Very playful for a dignified older lady. And she'll woo at you if she wants you to play, and you're not. She has a lot to say!

She has poked her head in the trash more than once, but a "leave it" immediately made her remove her head. She seems to know commands well, like "sit" and "come". Also, most impressive, after going out once, she is running to the door to the basement, scratching to go down the stairs and out into the yard! She also likes her crate, and lays in there quietly.

All in all, a really cool girl, very happy to be out of the shelter and getting some attention and love. Please contact her FOSTER HOME if you have any questions about this wonderful oldster with the heart of a pup!
